Started in 2023, we've been breaking down stock market concepts for everyday Canadians who want to understand what's happening with their investments without needing a finance degree.

Our approach is simple: if you can't explain something clearly, you probably don't understand it well enough. That's why we focus on straightforward education that actually makes sense when you're looking at your portfolio at 7am before work.

How We Got Started

Back in early 2023, our founder Dalton Farnsworth was teaching basic investing concepts to friends over coffee. Same questions kept coming up. Why do stocks move like that? What's the actual difference between various fund types? How do you read a financial statement without falling asleep?

People weren't looking for hot stock tips or complicated trading strategies. They wanted to understand the fundamentals so they could make informed decisions about their retirement accounts and savings.

So we built something focused on that. No promises about beating the market or getting rich quick. Just solid education about how markets work, what different investment vehicles do, and how to read the information that matters.

Since then, we've helped hundreds of Canadians go from confused about their RRSP statements to actually understanding what they're looking at—and why it matters for their long-term goals.

Who's Teaching

Dalton Farnsworth

Founder & Lead Educator

Dalton spent eight years analyzing equities for institutional investors before realizing most people needed help with much simpler questions than the ones he was answering daily. His background includes equity research, portfolio construction, and way too many earnings calls.

What he brings to Ciralent is the ability to explain complex market dynamics in ways that don't require a CFA charter to understand. He's particularly good at breaking down why certain metrics matter and others are just window dressing.

When he's not developing course content, you'll find him hiking around Nova Scotia or arguing about behavioral finance over dinner. He genuinely believes that understanding markets shouldn't require decoding Wall Street jargon—and that's what we build here.
